DEB AND DAVE'S RV ADVENTURE
"Life Rocks When Your House Rolls"

GEORGIA
Savannah's Downtown Historic District
Savannah River with Magnolia Tree
Cobblestones brought from Europe to pave the streets. (Used on the ships as ballast)
What makes Savannah unique are the 22 little park squares within the Historic District. These parks have beautiful Live Oak trees dripping with Spanish Moss and adorned with statues and fountains.
This is Chart House, a restaurant now but an historic old building. Savannah is where Whitney invented the cotton gin and many of the buildings here relate to the cotton industry or the wealth that the cotton, known as "white gold" brought to the city.
Our trolley tour took us past the "squares" as well many beautiful antebellum (pre civil war) homes.
This old home has 2 stairways, one for the men and one for the women. If a man saw a woman's ankles it was as much as marrying her!
